Left Virginia City and headed toward Lake Tahoe.
Sunrise In Virginia City
Snow in the High Mountains above Virginia City
Got gas on highway 50 before heading over to the lake. Gas was over a $1.00 cheaper in Nevada, then
in California. We blow through
stateline. Looks pretty much that same
as when we were there 20 years or so earlier.
We then headed to Coloma an old mining town where gold was discovered in
1849. The town of Coloma is on highway
49. Nice little town with a number of
restored buildings.
We then headed south on 49.
It was a round 4:30 pm, so we were looking for a place to stay for the
night. First spot we checked out was
called “Gold Beach” which was a campground, but is now only for locals. We ending up going to Lake Camanche
Reservoir’s North Beach campground. It
was a nice place and only cost $20.50 to spend the night. Heather made a chicken and pasta dinner.
